About the Bookseller

My name is Chris Lipinski. I live in Bonbeach with my family and I'm a father of three. This is my recollection of a year spent as a bookseller, a year that started with a pop-up shop on Nepean Highway in Chelsea and grew into something I never expected.

I've always believed that books bring people together. When the opportunity came to open a small bookshop alongside Rustique Furniture at 418 Nepean Highway, I jumped at it. I wanted to create a space where the community could browse, discover new stories, and feel welcome.

What followed was a year of early mornings sorting stock, afternoon chats with customers, lockdown deliveries to doorsteps in Chelsea, Edithvale, and Aspendale, and the quiet joy of handing someone a book they didn't know they needed. I met teachers, parents, railway enthusiasts, fellow small-business owners, and readers of every kind.

This site is a record of that year, the books, the faces, the challenges, and the community that made it all worthwhile. Thank you for being part of it.
